Sara Evans is a past recipient of CMA's Top Female Vocalist and has published several albums, including No Place That Far, Born to Fly, Restless and Real Fine Place. Sara's latest single, A little Bit Stronger, recently hit the GAC top 20 countdown. The Eye Docs of Rock will play both before and after Sara Evans.

SECO International is accepting abstract educational poster proposals for publication in the Advanced Media Learning Center (AMLC), supported in part by HOYA during SECO 2011, March 2-6, 2011. SECO offers a unique multimedia poster program unlike any other in optometry. SECO publishes educational posters on computers within the AMLC in a unique multimedia-format presentation similar to a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.

The deadlines for the SECO 2011 Multimedia Poster program are:
" August 15, 2010 Authors may submit to SECO International poster abstracts for review
" October 31, 2010 - SECO will close the abstracts submission process
" November 15, 2010 - SECO will notify authors of poster status (approved or denied)
" December 31, 2010 - Authors must have submitted to SECO finished posters for publication

SECO International has been honored with the Association of Optometrist's Award. SECO's President, Dr. Ron Bannister, accepted the award recently in Edinburgh, Scotland. Presented only three times previously, the award was created by the Association of Optometrists (AOP) to recognize an individual or institution that has made a significant impact on the advancement of optometry within the United Kingdom.

We are very honored to accept this prestigious award from the AOP, said Dr. Bannister. The long-time partnership between SECO and the AOP has been a mutually rewarding experience and has resulted in bringing together some of America's and Great Britain's foremost experts in the profession and extending continuing education opportunities to optometrists throughout the UK and US. SECO and the AOP formed a working relationship in 1997 with the signing of a joint venture partnership agreement and the intent to create an event in the UK similar to that of SECO's annual congress.

SECO 2010 award winners were: William E. Malone, O.D., Optometrist of the South, SECO's highest honor; Elizabeth Steele, O.D., F.A.A.O., Young Optometrist of the South award; and Belinda Coberly, Paraoptometric of the South. SECO's Award of Merit recipient was The EyeSight Foundation of Alabama. Congratulations to these award winners.
