Case #83

D.T., a 77 y/o white male presents with complaints of a "gloss" over the right eye for the past week. "No problem" with the left eye, he states.

Best corrected vision was CF in the right eye, 20/50 in the left.

IOP was 12 OD and 12 OS. Muscle fields were normal. Minimal cataract was found in both eyes. Pupils showed a positive afferent pupil defect in the right eye.

Dilated fundus examination showed a normal left eye, but the right eye revealed disk findings as shown in the accompanying picture, with disk edema and mild hemorrhaging shown off the rim.

The patient denied headache, or any other type of pain or ache.
