Answer/Discussion
The patient has a retinal arterial aneurysm with lipid ring and
subsequent macular edema. There was some discussion that this might
actually be a retinal telangiectasia, but the rapid filling on
angiography and the lipid ring more strongly supports an aneurysm.
The area of leakage was treated with an Argon laser and the patient
was reappointed for dilated follow-up in two months. The case is
still in progress. This patient was also referred to an internist for
HTN work-up.
