A 14 y/o white male presented with complaints of sudden loss of vision in the right eye. He said he was in good health, although he said he recently had been treated for two kidney infections that had been difficult to resolve. No family history was obtainable as he was an adopted child.
Uncorrected vision was 20/200 in the right eye and 20/40 in the left. Refraction showed an Rx of -2.25 - 1.75x40 in the right with a best-corrected acuity of 20/30-. His left eye was correctable to 20/20 with a -.75 sphere.
Biomicroscopy was normal in the left eye, but the right eye showed the findings seen in the photos show here.
IOP was 14 mmHg in the right eye and 12 mm Hg in the left.
EOMs were normal.
Pupils were normal.
Dilated fundus examination was normal OU.
